PURE WATER

Have you ever heard this; a person can live without air for 3 seconds, without water for 3 days, without food for 3 weeks , and without sex for 3 dates? Ok, some of that data may not be real or accurate.

But if the human body is actually 70% water, that’s probably not something you want to mess around with – getting enough water, I mean. But did you ever think about the quality of the water you’re drinking?

Safe drinking water is just one of those things I think we take for granted, like when you’re trying to catch an elevator that’s closing and whoever is inside will help you by holding open the door for you because…it’s down-right embarrassing if you don’t do anything to help. And they make it. I know because I’ve been there. I was the guy in the elevator that just stood there like an idiot. Talk about being at a loss for words. I just stood there and stared into space. Then when I heard his heavy breathing, I said, “Is someone in here?”

Anyways, back to the water; it’s just one of those things you don’t think about until a lawsuit comes up.

Recently, our local paper reported “a federal judge will decide on penalties against the city after a ruling that partially sided with three environmental groups saying the city’s waste-water system had repeatedly violated the federal Clean Water Act. ” We’re talking about penalties of up to hundreds of millions of dollars in the lawsuit!

The paper said a judge ruled a wastewater treatment plant released levels higher than the authorized limit of a bacteria called enterococcus 1,603 times. The city had also released levels exceeding permitted limits of biochemical oxygen demand and total suspended solids 218 times and a pesticide called dieldrin three times. They also violated the permit 1,578 times by not building a disinfection facility for four years after their deadline.

It’s no wonder so many people are sick around here!

Instead of getting sick and suing, people should just get a good water treatment system

and then join a class action suit!

Be Blessed!

PURE AIR

What makes the air you smell stink?

It’s the same stuff that makes the water you drink taste nasty. Particles of matter.

Now, if the stuff you’re smelling is coming from food you’re cooking, then it shouldn’t be harmful, because you’re going to be ingesting it anyways…

But if the stuff you’re smelling smells like chemicals or toxic – nothing you would eat or drink, then maybe you shouldn’t be smelling it either. Because it’s going in your body baby!

How do you feel knowing the stuff you’re breathing in could be particles of matter that probably isn’t doing your body any good?

My friends just opened a nail salon. I don’t know about you, but I can barely stand it when my wife is doing anything with her nails that involve polish.

Here’s the irony….I could pass gas (not that I would) down stairs of our house, and she could be upstairs on the other end, and you know what? She would smell it – and probably gag.

We keep our kitchen trash in a closet. If my son lets it sit long enough without emptying it (not that he would), you know what? My wife would smell it – and probably gag.

But when she’s doing her nails, or my daughter’s, it’s truly amazing, but it’s like they’re totally oblivious to the smell! I don’t get it.

Maybe it’s a male/female thing, but I have absolutely no idea how women stand the stink while they’re doing their nails. What’s even more amazing is, when they go to a nail salon and endure the smell for the duration of their visit – not just while their nails are being done.

And most amazing of all, how do the ladies who work there…work there?

I think one of the best things a nail salon (or hair salon – have you ever smelled the stuff they put in their hair?!!!), could do is get a good air treatment system that could limit the amount of particles going into your lungs.

I think my friends could make a lot more money. Their nail salon would probably be the safest one to go to. And the safest one to work at.

And maybe even the only salon men would go to…

Be Blessed!

What’s Your Health Worth?

“The greatest wealth is health.” ~ Virgil

With all the health issues impacting every living human being today, who wouldn’t want to be more aware of things you can do to optimize your health? Much of these are free; fresh air, sunshine, exercise, and sleep. Some might cost you; fresh air, clean water, and right nutrition. But when good health is the essence of living well, what is that worth to you?

“The first wealth is health.” ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
